-> HCL fired 450+ employees in recession but gives 123 crore salary to CEO and has 4000+ crore profit
TCS is forcing lakhs of its employees to return back to office if they dont have medical proof from panel of doctors at TCS.. TCS might fire the employee who doesnt abide to this new rule by new year 2023.
TCS will now provide work from home only to those employees who will submit authentic medical certificate. Now employees will have to give details of their illness or health-related problem to be able to continue work from home.
Employees are facing lots of stress , pressure as they have to relocate to cities like Bangalore, etc. Most of the employees are in 3-5LPA salary band and fight it hard to survive work from office in cities.

According to the report, the panel which will verify will include doctors from TCS.
The doctors in the panel will tell whether the employee is able to come to the office or not. After the doctor’s analysis, the company will allow work from home. Through this, the company wants to crack down on employees making excuses for work from home.
Earlier, it has been clarified in the internal mail sent by the HR department of TCS that work from home culture will not be encouraged. Cases of non-compliance will be taken seriously and necessary action may be taken.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is planning to go back to work from office (WFO) model by December 2022. Currently, it is operating in a hybrid model where employees are required to be physically present at work thrice a week. However, those who wish to fully work from home, for now, can do so by showing pertinent medical certificates. It would be possible after proper clearances by TCS's own doctors.
The new rule reportedly kick-in on October 10. In one of the emails, HR said, "Any non-compliance on or after 10 October 2022 will be viewed seriously, and administrative measures including placing you on leave may be applied".
TCS, meanwhile, generated sales of Rs 55,309 crore (Rs 46,867 crore Q2FY22) and a net profit of Rs 10,431 crore for the quarter ending September 30, 2022. (Rs 9,624 crore). The firm added 9,840 people to its payroll during the review period, bringing the total number of employees to 616,171 as of September 30, 2022.
TCS had earlier promised to many employees and it was in news that TCS will offer work from home till 2025 .
But recently TCS has changed its plans and have forced employees to return back to office
Confession of one employee over public tcs forum :
Hi , 27, Male - TCS Pune..
I did my Masters in Business Administration from XIMB Orissa... I got placed in TCS in Consulting with package of 8 lakhs in 2019. I worked for 7-8 months in Pune. I stayed in a shared PG with rent of 10k..I used to get 60k in hand salary.. I used to save 25k after spending on food,rent,etc....
Buttons I found Pune expensive as compared to Bhubneshwar.. Then COVID came and I started to work from home. I made a lot of savings. My package, too became 10 lakhs now..Whatever salary was credited, it used to remain in account...so I saved around 20 lakhs.. while working from home in a town near Bhubneshwar. Then came 2022 , and TCS HR said in news that employees will get permanent work from home after 2025, only they will come to office for a limited time..maybe once/twice in a month for business meetings,etc... So now I got a sense of security and my parents thought I will be settled here in my town...I loved a girl near my hometown..She was not that skilled in IT skills but was a perfect homemaker and housewife...chances of her getting a job in IT are very low...but I loved her...
I got married and started to work from home from my town near Bhubneshwar. But in last 2-3 months, my managers have started asking me to come to office in Pune...for 5 days a week.....I don't want to come to Pune as it is very expensive...Lot of traffic.. and Bhubneshwar culture is different from Pune...I feel good in Bhubneshwar only..Neither my wife likes Pune, not she would be able to support me financially in Pune...We can have a perfect life in Bhubneshwar...But in Pune, I won't be able to handle all the expenses of a big city.. 1 /2 bhk flat for me and my wife.... will cost 15-20k near TCS Pune office...My in hand salary is still 70k..Which won't be sufficient to live in Pune.. My wife is homemaker and not progressive working woman..My marriage happened as I was settled in my town near Bhubneshwar...
My manager has rejected my request of transfer to Bhubneshwar or report from Bhubneshwar office as whole team is in Pune..
What should I do now?

Indian multinational information technology (IT) services and consulting giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has sent emails to staff requiring them to work from office at least three days a week. Employees at TCS were informed in an internal email where they were informed that they would need to work from the office three days a week, according to the roster set by their individual supervisors.
The email did not provide a deadline for the staff members, but it did ask them to get in touch with their HR business partners for more information.
Earlier, TCS had taken a social media approach to persuade the employees to come to office. TCS used platforms like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram in a campaign started a few weeks ago.
The software services company tried to evoke nostalgia about working from the office via social media posts.
TCS 25x25 model
According to TCS 25x25 plan, the IT giant would adopt a new operating model in which only 25% of its workforce would be in the office at any given point in time. The plan will be introduced in a phased manner by 2025.
“Whenever the pandemic is contained and we start normalizing, we will start transitioning to a more hybrid working model in line with our Vision 25x25, that captures all the benefits of the remote model and addresses its challenges," a top executive had said.'
“We envisage that by year 2025, no more than 25% of our employees would need to be at a TCS facility at a point in time, and no individual would have to spend more than 25% of their time at a TCS facility to be 100% productive. We believe this is a more balanced approach, and will give our employees the best of both worlds. In this model, the role of the office itself will change significantly."
TCS MAIL :
Greetings!
As you are aware, we have started work from office and our senior leaders have been working from TCS offices for a while now as things have become normal. It is now time that our larger teams should start working from office as well. This will also be an opportunity to welcome a significant number of our new colleagues, who have joined us over the last two years most of whom have not yet been to a TCS office.
As part of our 'Return to Office' initiative, all TCSers are expected to work from office at least 3 days a week. Your respective managers will now roster you to work from TCS office and you shall receive notifications regarding the same. In case you need any support, please reach out to your HR Business Partner.
Kindly note that adherence to rostering is mandatory and your attendance will be tracked. Needless to mention, any non-compliance will be taken seriously, and administrative measures may be applied.
I am sure each one of you will comply to the requirement of 'Return to Office' and will help in making the workplace vibrant again.
Looking forward to see you in office!
Regards
TCS’s strict remote work policy
TCS has made it plain that remote workers will no longer be tolerated under any circumstances. If an employee calls in sick or complains of health issues, they must also provide a doctor’s note. The fact that it will be checked by the company’s medical staff is crucial. Once this is completed, the staff will be allowed to work remotely.
TCS is ruling out permanent work from home after considering the general interest of its employees. Currently, TCS employees are working in a hybrid model where employees come to office only when required.
Permanent remote working ends for Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) employees as the IT giants ask everyone to return to office desks. TCS employees who were enjoying a 100 per cent work-from-home will have to come back to the office according to the need of their role.
Last year in an official mail to employees, TCS informed its employees to come back to offices three days a week or according to the roster set by their team supervisor. "Senior leaders of TCS have been working from TCS offices for a while now and our customers are also visiting TCS offices Your respective managers will now roster you to work from the TCS office for at least 3 days in a week," reads the official mail.
However, now in a recent interview with Financial Express, the Indian tech giant confirmed to officially rule out 100 per cent remote work for everyone.
"There is a greater realisation that by coming to offices, more things get done, especially for people who have joined us in the last two years. When they come and see the offices, they see a different perspective of TCS, they see a different perspective of their own position vis-a-vis their peers," said N. Ganapathy Subramaniam, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of TCS.
